Fluminense secures deadline extension for labour debt payment in Brazil

By The Weekly Edge desk ·

Summary

Fluminense obtained a labour court extension to 30 October for paying its September instalment under a centralised debt scheme, reported by BNLData. The club says Provisional Measure 1.394/2026, which prohibits fixed-odds betting and its advertising in Brazil, caused an immediate financial impact; it paid the instalment due on 25 September but missed the payment due on 30 September. Fluminense says it is seeking other revenue sources.

Why it matters

The extension changes the timing of payments to former employees as the club says the measure affected its finances.
